THE WHORE

Disclaimer: Anyone who confesses Jesus as Lord and believes God raised Him from the dead will be saved. This includes our “Roman” catholic brothers and sisters as well as all those that protest (Protestants). It isn’t what you know that gets you into heaven, it’s who you know! This doesn’t excuse heresy and those that teach it must be restored to:

1. Bible only

2. Jesus only

3. Grace only and

4. Faith only.

Don’t perish for lack of knowledge and be at least “grown up enough” to hear me out and rebut me as a fellow-believer. Thank you for this consideration. I write this in love.

ADULTS ONLY:

The primary purpose of this article is to set forth in strong contrast the differences between the evangelical Protestant and the Roman Catholic Church both in regards to doctrine and in regard to the practical effects where these two systems have been effective in the lives of people.

The Second Vatican Council claims that the Roman Catholic Church is the only true church.

Rome has changed her tactics when old methods became ineffective but she has never changed her nature.

The Constitution on the Church affirms that the Roman pontiff has full, supreme and universal power over the Church. It adds that “he is always free to exercise this power.”

The doctrine of papal infallibility is restated.

The Council of Trent states that the priests have the power of consecrating and offering the body and blood of our Lord of remitting sins.”

If the Roman Church were reformed according to Scripture, it would have to be abandoned.

The Pope’s purpose is not unity but absorption!

The freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of assembly is a part of our everyday life.

The Basis of Protestant Belief:

· The supremacy of the Bible in all matters of faith and practice.

· Justification by faith, not by works, although works have their necessary and logical place as the fruits and proof of true faith.

· The right of the individual to go directly to God in prayer apart from the mediation of any priest or other human intermediary.

· Individual freedom of conscience and worship within the authority of the Bible.

The one consuming purpose of the Vatican is to convert the entire world, not to Christianity, but to Roman Catholicism.

The Roman Catholic Church is reticent about asserting:

· To be the only true church

· The only church that has a right to conduct public religious services

· It’s right to suppress all other forms of religion

· It’s superiority to all national and state governments

· It’s control over all marriage

· It’s right to direct all education and obligation of the state to support its churches and schools with tax money.

· In the countries where it has been dominant for centuries, we see the true fruits in the lives of the people:

· Poverty

· Ignorance

· Superstition

· Low moral standards

Catholicism conditions its people to accept censorship, thought control, and ultimately dictatorship.

If the United States should become Roman Catholic the result undoubtedly would be the rapid conquest of this country and the rest of the world by communism. Our descent would be sure and fast.

Roman Catholicism has reached its present state as the result of a long, slow process of development as through the century’s one new doctrine, or ritual, or custom after another has been added.

Human inventions have been substituted for Bible truth and practice.

The distinctive attitude of the present day Roman Church was fixed largely by the Council of Trent (1545-1563), with its more than 100 anathemas or curses pronounced against all who then or in the future would dare to differ with its decisions.

What is next? Mary as matrix or co-Redemptrix!

While the Roman church has been so free to hurl the name “heretic” at all who differ with her, the above list shows that the real heretics are the Roman Catholics themselves, and that the true orthodox are the evangelical Christians.

The Reformation, under Luther, Zwingli, Calvin and Knox was literally a “back-to-the-Bible” movement, a return to apostolic Christianity.

The Reformers “protested” against the false doctrines and practices that were contrary to the teachings of the New Testament.

Q: How then do we know whether or not any particular system sets forth true Christianity?

A: By comparing it with a recognized standard, the Bible which is the ultimate authority.

All the decrees of the Pope or his authority that are not in the Bible are false.

The Roman concept of sin is quite different from that of Protestantism. Rome does not demand reform in her people. As long as they acknowledge the church and meet the external requirements they are allowed to do about as they please.

Roman Catholic Priests’ Oath
This “Oath of Faith” is required of all Roman Catholic priests:
“I acknowledge that during the Mass a truly expiatory sacrifice takes place; effective for the dead and those alive. In the holy sacrament of the Eucharist, the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ with His soul and whole Godhead is in truth present. I believe in Purgatory and that the souls who go there are helped by the prayers of believers.
“I believe that the saints who rule with Christ are to be honored and addressed in prayer; that they offer prayers on our behalf to God and that we should honor their relics.
“I affirm that we should keep, protect and pay due honor to pictures of Christ, the never-changing Virgin Mother of God and the other saints.
“I also declare that Christ gave to the Church the power to remit sin and that great blessing comes to every Christian nation which makes use of this.
“I acknowledge that the holy Roman Catholic Church as being the mother and teacher of all churches. I swear and promise to obey the Roman Pope, the successor of Saint Peter, the prince of the apostles and representative of Christ on earth.
“Similarly, I condemn, reject and declare accursed everything contrary to his, including all false doctrines which The Church has condemned, rejected or cursed. I herewith confess openly the Catholic faith without which no man can be saved. I promise to keep this faith pure and unadulterated until the day of my death.”

Syllabus of Errors

Issued by pope Pius IX in 1864

No man is free to embrace and profess that religion which he
believes to be true guided by the light of reason

·
The eternal salvation of any out of the true church of Christ is not
even to be hoped for.

·
Protestantism is not another and diversified form of the one true
Christian religion in which it is possible to please God equally as in the
Catholic Church.

·
The Church has the power to define dogmatically the religion of the
Catholic Church to be the only true religion.

·
The Church has the power of employing force and of exercising direct
and indirect temporal power.

·
No national Church can be instituted in a state of division and
separation from the authority of the Roman Pontiff.

·
In legal conflict between powers (civil and ecclesiastical) the
ecclesiastical law prevails.

·
The direction of public schools in which the youth of Christian
states are brought up neither can nor ought to be assumed by the civil
authority alone.

·
Catholics cannot approve of a system of education for youth apart
from the Catholic faith, and disjoined from the authority of the Church.

Kings and princes (including, of course, presidents, prime
ministers, etc.) are not only not exempt from the jurisdiction of the Church
but are subordinate to the Church in litigated questions of jurisdiction.

The
Church ought to be in union with the state, and the state with the church.

·
Philosophical
principles, moral science, and civil laws may and must be made to bend to
Divine and Ecclesiastical authority.

·
Subjects
may not refuse obedience to legitimate princes, much less rise in insurrection
against them.

·
The marriage tie is indissoluble by the law of nature; divorce,
properly so called, cannot in any case be pronounced by the civil authority.

·
Marriage among Christians cannot be constituted by any civil
contract; the marriage-contract among Christians must always be a sacrament;
and the contract is null if the sacrament does not exist.

·
It is necessary even in the present day that the Catholic religion shall be held
as the only religion of the State, to the exclusion of all other forms of
worship.

·
Whence it has been unwisely provided by law, in some countries called Catholic, that
persons coming to reside therein shall enjoy the free exercise of their
religion.

·
The Roman Pontiff cannot and ought not to reconcile himself to, or
agree with, progress, liberalism, and modern civilization.
